To get the pictures up quickly, there has been minimal editing, cropping or
red eye removal. Later, maybe.
There wasn't going to be captions, but there was a request so a few have been
added. Perhaps you can help out with the rest or would like to add something
to them. Email the mail list mentioned above or the webmaster below.
The main event was at The Renaissance on Saturday August 9, 2003 from 7-12.
The next day, people also gathered at Parkhill's Waterfront Grill. Also,
Sue Henderson invited people to visit on Friday night. Toni's pictures
include photos of this event. However, if you want to send some more . . .
Most of us were also together in 8th grade and in the spirit of swapping
class pictures as happened at Parkhill's, I've posted the 1968 year book
for your amusement. With lots of help, many but not all have been identified.
Click on a class page to get the enlargement and see the captions. Thanks
to Mary, Tim, Karin, Dennis, and everyone else that helped with the IDs.
Is there a group picture available, you ask? No, there wasn't an official
group picture taken, but there was a person there shooting video and the
reference to the group shot on the second Renaissance page is when the
group gathered at the front and the cameraman panned across the crowd
several times. You can buy the video tape and the details are in
this notice that was circulated.

KEITH J. KARASIC, 50, of Kalaheo, Kauai in Hawaii, formerly of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Friday, April 21, at home, surrounded by immediate family members, after a two-year battle with cancer. He graduated from Ocean Township High School in 1973 and received his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Fla. He moved to the island of Kauai in January 1979 to pursue his love of surfing. As a freelance photojournalist, he has had photos and articles appear in the publications Yachting, People, The New Yorker and Bride Magazine, as well as USA Today and The Garden Island newspapers. His pictures, which are featured on postcards, calendars, and brochures, reflect the beauty of his island home, which he loved. Keith's unique photos, featuring Kauai, have also been published in numerous photographic collections. A lifelong advocate of preserving the ecology, in 2003, he began another career . . . farming.
He was predeceased by his father, Maurice "Chop" Karasic. Keith is survived by his mother, Esther Binder Karasic; his brother, Judge Ronald A. Karasic; and his sister-in-law, Dr. Donna Sue Karasic, all of Baltimore, Md. A private service, which was held on April 23 and included a "paddle-out" to his favorite surfing spot, was performed by his many surfer friends. A rainbow appeared when they formed a circle as part of the memorial tribute, and another rainbow appeared as they returned to shore following the ceremony.
You will find some of Keith's pictures at www.kauai-eye-photo.com, http://www.outfitterskauai.com/wailua.html, and http://www.multihulldesigns.com/stock/charter.html. Google Keith Karasic for see more and to read his writings.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn't know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn't have opened for anyone else.
Joseph Campbell (1904-1987) (Thanks Marvin, for pointing this out.)
