Half the fun on a trip is supposed to be getting there so the first night was planned for Liberty Harbor so that we could watch the fireworks from Liberty State Park and the Macy's day fireworks from the East River behind the buildings. This also would give us a good start up the Hudson River the next morning.
The first choice would be Liberty Landing Marina located right at Liberty State Park, but it was full so we had to settle for Liberty Harbor Marina right across Liberty Harbor from Liberty Landing Marina. For the $3/ft like prices, there's not much either place have to offer except a restroom and a burgers and fries restaurant. You're better off cooking on board here.
In the evening, there were great views of the fireworks from Liberty Park. The Macy's fireworks began towards the end of the Liberty Park fireworks and the end of the dock gave a better of these. The party at the bar continued all night and was still going strong at 2 AM.
